In the wake of announcements regarding digital ID, TransActual have written to the new ministerial team at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) to ask they make good on previous assurances that the voice of trans people would be heard.
In our letter, we set out our priorities for maintaining data privacy for LGBTQ+ people at a time of growing risk of the misuse of government data to forcibly out trans people.
TransActual will continue to monitor the situation and speak up for the rights of all LGBTQ+ people as these new policy proposals take shape.
