Meet Us, Hear Us

Houses of Parliament in trans flag colours

MPs, other elected representatives and policy makers make decisions impacting trans people’s lives every single day. But many have never knowingly met a trans person.

It’s time for that to change. It’s time for our elected representatives to Meet Us and Hear Us.

What is Meet Us, Hear Us?

Meet Us, Hear Us has one aim:
To make sure every elected representative has had the opportunity to meet a trans person and hear about the issues that impact us day in, day out.

As part of Meet Us, Hear Us, we have:

  • Created resources on how to arrange a meeting with an MP or other elected representative (and what to do once you’ve got one).
  • Delivered workshops for trans people to empower them to meet their elected representative(s).
  • Supported people to meet MPs in Parliament.

Meet your MP

You can still get involved even though we’ve had our day of action in Parliament. Do your bit to bring about change by being part of the #MeetUsHearUs campaign.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Contact your MP asking them to meet you.
  2. Let us know you’ve booked a meeting using our Meet Us Hear Us meeting form.
  3. After the meeting, make sure you let us know how it went.
